Hemp Pancakes (recipe) Not Just for Breakfast anymore!

Hemp Recipe for Pancakes

Pancakes - just the thought brings breakfast to mind.

By definition pancakes are defined by Wikipedia as:

A pancake is a flat cake, often thin, flat, and round, prepared from a starch-based batter and cooked on a hot surface such as a griddle or frying pan. In Britain, pancakes are often unleavened, and resemble a crêpe.

No where in that definition does it state breakfast or what time of day this food item should be eaten.
Personally I like to shake things up a bit and serve pancakes for dinner!  I have yet to have anyone turn away, unless of course they have came by after stopping somewhere else to eat.  Even then, the thought of hot, fluffy, syrup covered pancakes, persuade even my fullest guest to indulge a little more.

I have found a great delicious Hemp pancake recipe which is also soy and gluten free!

I hope you will take my lead and try these, if not for dinner, maybe by starting your day. with the wonderful mouth watering aroma only this great anytime pancake recipe can produce.

Hemp Milk Recipe - How to make Hemp Milk

Hemp Milk Recipe

How to make hemp milk!  Home Made Hemp Milk

Time required under 5 minutes.

This a great source of protein, omega-3's, omega-6's, and healthy Gamma-Linolenic Acid (GLA).
For just a few minutes of time you can have 5 cups of deliecious Hemp Milk

INGREDIENTS (yields approx 5 cups)

  • 1 cup shelled hemp seeds
  • 4 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons raw honey or agave nectar

(pinch of sea salt can also be added for a little extra zing)

Can be flavored by adding a
  • dash of vanilla.
For Chocolate Hemp Milk

add
  • 1.5 tablespoons raw cacao powder.

DIRECTIONS

Blend the ingredients until smooth.
Blending on high only takes about a minute or so to pulverize the seeds.

Unlike Almond or other nut milks straining through a nut milk bag  is not required.
An unbleached coffee filter will work for straining, also.

Not Straining or straining, this is similar to how you like your orange juice,  pulp or no pulp.  Your choice.

(HINT)
If making Chocolate milk and you strain, my advise is to strain before adding Honey, agave or cacao

Use now or store sealed in the refrigerator.

Avocado And Hemp Recipe, What's for lunch? How about Hemp And Avocado Sushi Rolls?

Hemp And Avocado Sushi Roll

Like Sushi rolls?

Here is a raw alternative, which is delicious and packed with protein, iron and saturated fats. Using hemp seed instead of rice, this recipe provides you a complete and healthy meal all rolled into one!

Ingredients:

  • 2 large avocados
  • 4 nori sheets (edible seaweed for those who don't speak Japanese)
  • 3 cups shelled hemp seeds
  • 1/2 cup agave
  • Red wine vinegar, or any type vinegar you have may work for you

And any other fillings
such as:

  • cucumber,
  • broccoli,
  • sprouts,
  • bell pepper,
  • eggplant,
  • spinach,
  • kale,
  • tomato,
OR, as you can see, pretty much whatever you like on your roll.

To prepare:

Mix 1/2 cup agave with 3 cups hemp seeds until well mixed. (prepared hemp -"Sticky rice")

This will be like your rice or "sticky rice part of regular sushi roll.
Add more agave if needed.

Lay out a nori (seaweed) sheet shiny side down and spread about 1/4 of the prepared hemp evenly across the sheet.
Make sure to leave about about 3/4" or 2 centimeters uncovered at the bottom edge.

Cut half an avocado into long pieces and lay them out across the middle horizontal with direction of roll.
Then add thin strips of your other preferred fillings.
Use a sushi mat to roll,

Don't despair if you don't have a mat,

Simply

Start from the top and carefully roll the nori (seaweed) tightly with your hands. Wetting your fingers and applying a small amount of water to the edge you left blank will help you in sealing your roll.
Repeat this process making 4 rolls.

Next:

Cut these rolls up into 6 pieces each and serve with preferred soy sauce (Nama Shoya is supposedly the freshest and liveliest tasting) and ginger on the side.

After your hard lard labors sit down and enjoy!

Hope you have enjoyed this little lunch recipe and please leave comments.

Thanks,  Have  a great day!

Hemp

With all the new legislation and the deregulation of hemp and hemp made products, Hemp and its benefits are becoming more well known.

Hemp seeds are becoming quite popular, with people eating them in salads, soups, smoothies, sauces, adding them to yogurt or perhaps a little honey, the possibilities are limitless.

Why would I eat hemp seed instead of the old fashioned granola?

The flavor is richer more nutty.                                                               The texture more chewy.
packed with protein (10 grams/serving) as well as other essential vitamins and fats.

Even Dr. Oz States:

Hemp seeds are a great source of omega-3s, the healthy fats your body needs to protect your heart and boost nutrient absorption. Though they taste great whole or hulled, hemp seeds are known to provide more fiber when consumed with their shell.
